Katie Mawson

Katie set up her business in 1991 after graduating from Camberwell Art School with a degree in textile design.

She started out from an old railway arch near Brixton before moving to the more spacious Clockwork Studios in Camberwell. Originally home to Fred Karno’s Fun Factory in the early 1900s, featuring Stan Laurel and Charlie Chaplin, this building has since been transformed into a honeycomb of studio spaces for the use of Artists and Designer Makers.

Here, Katie’s work evolved and changed over the years. She started with hand-knitted jumpers and went on to create a children’s wear collection, before perfecting her range of felted accessories and special cushions and throws.

Katie’s husband, Chris, joined the business in 2000, and shortly thereafter they moved North to the Lake District where they continue to develop and expand their range, selling to stockists in Europe, the USA, South East Asia and Australia.
