A solo exhibition, Fragmented Images, at the Wallace Collection, London in 2007 was the culmination of work made over a two-year period as the Museum’s first Associate Artist. The papercuts and ceramic vases drew upon primary visual research made at the Museum that explored conceptual and visual ideas in the 18th-century French fêtes galantes paintings of Watteau alongside the pictorial and ornament represented in their Sèvres porcelain collection. The resulting artworks crossing fine and decorative art practices are a contemporary take on the women as a decorative, passive goddesses.
